Designed to deliver a top-heavy big game experience, this 7-day safari takes in three of Botswana’s premier game viewing destinations: the legendary Okavango Delta plus both the Savute and Chobe River regions of the Chobe National Park.
Start off with the tranquility of the Okavango Delta’s waterways where you’ll enjoy both land and water-based adventures in a wildlife-packed environment before flying into the Chobe National Park for some of the best game viewing in Southern Africa.
Savute is home to all the major predators and is particularly famous for the savage interactions between lions and hyenas, and there’s more drama on the Chobe River where you’ll be staying at Chobe Game Lodge, the only permanent riverside lodge located in the Chobe National Park. The dry season game viewing (June to October) is phenomenal and you’ll experience some of the best elephant sightings in Africa.

Day to day
On arrival in Botswana’s Maun Airport you will transfer by scheduled air charter to either Camp Okavango or Camp Moremi, two excellent lodges offering superb game viewing activities.
Camp Okavango is more of a water-based camp and offers year-round boating, canoeing and walking safaris whereas Camp Moremi focuses more on game drives in a very rewarding part of the Moremi Game Reserve. The bird watching is amazing at both camps and you’ll have plenty of time to absorb the beauty of this iconic destination.
Today you will transfer by scheduled air charter to the Savute region of the Chobe National Park where you will be met and transferred to Savute Safari Lodge. Here you’ll enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives with expert guides.
Savute, located in the wild and remote central part of Chobe, has a high density of predators – and not least lions and spotted hyenas, two species that are often in conflict with each other over kills.
There are also leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs and black-backed jackals to search for as well as the full range of classic savannah animals – elephants, antelope of many species, giraffe, zebra and great birding. Indeed, the now-flowing Savute Channel delivers some of the best game viewing in the country.
Transfer by light aircraft to Kasane Airport and onward by road to Chobe Game Lodge, located right on the banks of the Chobe River in Botswana’s renowned Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s heavyweight safari destinations.
The elephant population in Chobe is the largest single concentration in Africa and during the harsh dry season (June to October) the herds migrate in ever-increasing numbers to congregate along the fertile floodplains and in the forests of the Chobe River. It’s also a great destination for lion, buffalo, hippo and crocodile, and the bird watching ranks as some of the best in Southern Africa.
Keep an eye out for rarer species such as wild dog, sable and roan antelope on your morning and afternoon game drives, and make sure you go on a water activity – small motorboats are used for game viewing while a sunset cruise on a large riverboat is one of Chobe’s quintessential experiences.
After breakfast today, you will depart Chobe Game Lodge and transfer by road to Kasane Airport to connect with your onward flight.
