View all accommodation in the Ngorongoro Crater
Accessibility to the Ngorongoro Crater, availability, and budget play an important part in deciding at which Ngorongoro Accommodation to stay at. The crater is an extremely popular destination and there are only four lodges (and one rather spartan campsite) located on the rim.
The rim lodges are the most convenient and, barring one old lodge that we don't recommend, definitely the most luxurious way to experience the crater.
Visitors choosing to stay in comfortable accommodation nearby Ngorongoro Crater, rather than living it up on the edge, will travel for roughly an hour before reaching the caldera rim. From Ngorongoro's rim it takes a further hour to descend into the crater.
