This Tanzanian safari starts with a fly-in safari to the famous Serengeti - allowing more time for game viewing and less time spent on the road. You then continue by road to the game rich areas of Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire.
- Day 1: Serengeti National Park

In the afternoon you fly straight from Arusha to the Serengeti, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive. Catching the Great Migration in the Serengeti is a spectacular sight, and if you time your safari right, you could witness the millions of wildebeest surging up the plains in search of fresh grazing.

- Day 2 : Serengeti National Park
- Itinerary
Today is your 2nd day on safari and you can enjoy both a morning and afternoon game drive through the Serengeti to explore the wildlife on the great open plains. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth; and is home to an incredible variety of game.

- Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater & Olduvai Gorge
- Itinerary
After enjoying your breakfast you drive via Olduvai Gorge to Ngorongoro Crater, with a picnic lunch en route. Discover the archaeological history at Olduvai before driving to your accommodation at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (approx 3 hr drive). Quite possibly the most famous of all Africa's conservation areas, this is one of the places in Africa where you stand a very good chance of seeing the Big 5. Spend 2 nights at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, where the high altitude of the crater rim will ensure a good night's rest.

- Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
- Itinerary
After breakfast, our Essential Northern Circuit safari has allocated a full day for game viewing in the crater with a picnic lunch. The crater is rich in wildlife and the day will be filled with the sights & sounds of the wild echoing within the crater walls.

- Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park
- Itinerary
This morning you drive to Lake Manyara (approx 2 hr). Activities here include a walk around the rim of the Great Rift Valley, escorted by a Masai guide. Lunch is followed by a game drive in this park famous for its herds of elephants & huge variety of birds. The Lake Manyara forest is the place to see leopard, while lions hunt on the grassy shores of the lake.

- Day 6: Tarangire National Park
- Itinerary
After breakfast you leave Lake Manyara and drive to Tarangire (approx 2hr15min). In the afternoon you are taken on a game drive through the park. Many of the animals congregate around the only source of permanent water in the park, the Tarangire River. This is the best place in Tanzania to see enormous herds of elephant - up to 300 at a time. Stay overnight at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.

Easter Supplement at Serena Lodges: 06 April - 09 April 2007 - USD 45 pp per night.
The tour may need to be re-routed in the case of specified lodges not being available.
In order to qualify for low season rates, the tour must start and finish within the specified dates. If this is not the case, then the price will be changed accordingly.
