Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve

Although this game reserve borders Kruger National Park, there are no fences between them. This means the animals can wander as they please and as they once did across vast stretches of grazing land.

Some of the best private game lodges in the country are in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and the chances of seeing the Big 5 animals (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) are excellent.

Access to the lodges is by vehicle or via a short flight from Johannesburg into the lovely little airport at Skukuza in the Kruger National Park then a short hop by light aircraft to the private reserves.

Luxury private reserves

Three of the biggest names in luxury safari accommodation are located inside the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. They are lodges on little private reserves in their own right: Londolozi, Singita, and Mala Mala.
