Medjumbe is a tiny romantic getaway in Mozambique's magnificent Quirimbas Archipelago. This private tropical island, just one km long and 500 metres wide, is surrounded by warm, clear water and spectacular coral reefs. Escape to this remote island to enjoy the slow pace of life, and a bit of sun, sand and sea.
When the mood takes you, there are plenty of fantastic activities. Medjumbe offers phenomenal diving and snorkeling, apart from the 12 known dive sites, intrepid divers can set out to explore a host of new dive locations so far undiscovered. Other marine activities include fishing, sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing, kayaking and dhow cruises. You can also go for a honeymoon picnic on a beautiful, uninhabited island - just you, your partner and loads of delicious food.
To get to this private paradise you can take a 45-minute light aircraft transfer from Pemba Airport. This scenic flight takes you over translucent, aquamarine sea dotted with beautiful islands.

Medjumbe Private Island has 13 palm-thatched beach chalets, just steps away from the warm Indian Ocean. Each chalet has a private plunge pool with magnificent ocean views.
Chalets are decorated in crisp blues and white, with a relaxed beach theme decor. Other facilities included indoor and outdoor showers, air conditioning, mosquito nets and satellite TV (thought you're sure to spend far more time relaxing on the decks and patios enjoying the tropical evenings, then inside watching TV).
