Ibo is just one of a string of 32 tropical islands that make up the magical Quirimbas Archipelago. The surrounding waters are known to be one of the most biologically diverse marine environments on earth. No trip to the islands would be complete without a look below the ocean's shimmering surface - snorkel and dive, or fish for dogtooth tuna and marlin.
Other activities worth mentioning include a sunset cruise on a hand made traditional teak sailing dhow and a guided excursion into the fertile mangrove forest. If all this sounds a bit energetic, you may simply prefer to indulge in a relaxing massage, spend a lazy afternoon in a hammock, or stretch out in the sun alongside one of the lodge's two swimming pools.
LocationIbo Island Lodge is situated on beautiful and remote Ibo Island, just north of the small town of Pemba in the Quirimbas Archipelago, Northern Mozambique.
DiningMeals at Ibo Island Lodge combine traditional specialities with seafood, freshly grown organic vegetables, herbs and fruits. Mozambique has a well-deserved reputation for delicious seafood and, every morning, the lodge buys fresh fish from the local fishermen. You can also sample giant tiger prawns and Ibo's speciality - crab with fragrant coconut rice.
Romantic dinners are served on the tranquil verandas or rooftop restaurant, which is also the ideal venue to enjoy a drink as you watch the sun melt into the sea.
