Located on the northern tip of Mauritius, Le Canonnier is surrounded by three beautiful beaches and has panoramic views over the Indian Ocean and Northern Islets. The resort is only 5km from the village of Grand Baie, a popular shopping destination.
The architecture integrates the remains of historical fortifications into its design. The 'Bob Marlin Miniclub' (for children aged 3 to 12) is housed in the 18th century lighthouse, while the Wellness Centre is built around a huge banyan tree. This peaceful escape includes five massage rooms with exterior showers overlooking the peninsula's ancient ruins.
There is a wide range of leisure and sports activities available including water-skiing, windsurfing, volley-ball, archery and an initiation to yoga. All water sports are free of charge, except for scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. You will also have access to Trou aux Biches' 9-hole golf course.
We recommend you opt for Le Canonnier's "all-inclusive" package, to avoid having to think about money while you're there. Drinks in Mauritius are quite pricey, and this option not only covers your meals, but most drinks as well, including the mini bar in your room.

DiningThe restaurants and bars at Le Canonnier reflect the hotel's historical charm and unique surroundings.
Le Frangipanier, the main restaurant set on a spacious terrace next to the pool, is open for breakfast, lunch, and themed buffets in the evenings.
Le Navigator is an a la carte restaurant set in a colonial mansion of thatch and stone, creating the perfect setting for that romantic dinner. It even allows for open-air dancing later in the evening.
Le Planteur, the main bar, overlooks a landscaped water feature in the gardens.
You also have the option of dining at Le Mauricia; the sister hotel in Grand Baie.
Le Canonnier comprises 284 rooms, all facing either the sea or the gardens. Rooms are housed in two wings, which hug the peninsula's coastline.
The furniture is simple and rooms are comfortably decorated in contrasts of red and beige. All rooms have a terrace, air-conditioning, en suite bathroom, mini bar, hairdryer, twin or king-size bed, telephone, TV and safe.
The split-level family duplexes are either sea or garden facing, and can accommodate two adults and up to three children, or four adults in total. The more spacious family apartments each have a large terrace, and are all garden facing.
The four honeymoon suites have magnificent sea views.
