1. Go Game Viewing in an African Eden
Spot incredible concentrations of wildlife in a diverse, beautiful environment. In particular, look out for big cats, elephants and buffalo - there are plenty!
Wind your way in a 4X4 through forest, floodplain and open savannah. Moremi has an international reputation as having some of Africa's best game viewing: it's the last stronghold of the African wild dog, has great birdwatching, and is full of the iconic large African mammals.
2. Check Out Game From the Water
It's the perfect way to see the Okavango Delta: travel as the animals do, nosing your way through reed beds and along clear channels, never quite sure what is round the next bend in the river. Your guides are locals and have an intimate knowledge of their environment. Sit back and relax - let the Delta take over.
Unwind on a guided local canoe, drifting through quiet backwaters and papyrus-lined channels. The only sounds will be swirling water and bird calls. We recommend the Kanana Mokoro Trail where you will venture deep into the backwaters of the Delta on the hunt for the legendary sitatunga antelope.
Alternatively, for a more thrilling edge to your game-watching experience, take a motorised boat trip - you'll reach high speeds on the open waterways and meander slowly through hippo channels to get close up to animals.
3. Experience a Delta High
Take a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta and watch the landscape open up into a kaleidoscope of channels, lagoons and islands.
Spotting animals from the air puts a totally different angle on game viewing! It's only from the air that the scale of the Okavango Delta becomes apparent - it stretches out in all directions, a horizon-hugging web of waterways.
Tours through the Okavango Delta can be arranged that allow you to enjoy activities you have a particular interest in.
4. Relax in sheer, no-holds-barred Luxury in the Wilderness
All the accommodation in the Delta is good, but sometimes it is extraordinary. Our Exclusive and Luxury Lodges are not solely about price but also the experience: what could be more out of this world than lounging on a daybed, private plunge pool by your side, while watching game almost within arm's reach coming to drink at a waterhole?
Most of the camps in the Okavango Delta overlook floodplains or a waterhole, and many of the suites have their own totally private daybeds (like this one at Little Mombo) where you can while away the day and forget all about the real world in incredible surroundings.
5. Walk in the Delta Wild
Travel with a difference: the Delta is one of the few places in Botswana where you can walk in the bush. Your guide will track down and get close to big game - but don't forget to take the time to study the smaller stuff: birds, bugs and beautiful trees.
Lodges in the private concessions offer walking trails ranging from a couple of hours to several days with overnight bush camps. Walk with a qualified and armed ranger to enjoy a unique experience - not much can beat the thrill of spotting fresh lion spoor or crouching down while a curious elephant sniffs the air.
