Chobe » General Information » Overview

The Chobe National Park is located in Botswana's North West District, with the Chobe River providing both the park's northern boundary and its name.

It is flanked in the south west by the Okavango Delta/Moremi Game Reserve, and by the forested Zimbabwe border to the east. From its northeast entry gate, it's less than 100km to Victoria Falls.

The gateway to Chobe is Kasane, a small town sandwiched between the Zimbabwean border and Chobe National Park. There are lodges close to Kasane where you can stay and go game viewing in the park on a daily basis, but be aware that your day will begin with a drive to the park through the town.

However, if you want to stay near the northern boundary of the park these lodges may be an option as Chobe Game Lodge is the only northern lodge within the park's boundaries, and there may be times when availability is limited.

Kasane has an international airport - Kasane Airport - where flights from Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa land.
