Built from locally sourced materials by members of the surrounding communities, Engagi blends in with its surroundings and offers a naturally rustic atmosphere that complements the beautiful forest.

The lodge has a large wooden veranda on which you can relax and enjoy panoramic views of Bwindi.

You can also step out on the separate outdoor viewing platform and get a closer look at this dense and beautiful primeval forest that is home to gorillas, chimpanzees and countless birds.

    The first place where I could see myself properly in the bathroom mirror! Amazingly empty – we were the only guests on the second night, but made to feel very welcome by the staff. Free laundry facilities, but of course nothing got really dry. Gorilla tracking: worth every cent. We were very pleased that our ABB guide managed to get us in a group with other fit people & we made a whole day of the walk over the hills.
