- Days 1-2: Johannesburg - Zululand
- Itinerary
Departing Johannesburg at 06:30 am, you travel into the heart of KwaZulu-Natal where you camp in the Mkuzi Game Reserve, a last safe haven for the endangered Black Rhino. You explore the reserve on game drives and visit a hide overlooking one of the waterholes to watch the game come down to drink. A local guide will lead you on a walk in the neighbouring village where you meet local Zulu people and are introduced to their culture and customs.
Breakfast on one of these days at own expense.
- Days 3-5: Kosi Bay
- Itinerary
Kosi Bay Nature Reserve covers a region of fertile estuary, mangroves, dune forest and lakes, which you explore on foot and by boat. You visit Bunga neck (watch Leatherback turtles laying eggs in season: Nov. - Jan.) and the Kosi Bay river mouth to snorkel and watch the local fisherman in the estuary.
Dinner on one of these nights at own expense.
- Day 6: Swaziland
- Itinerary
Your camp in Hlane Royal National Park is surrounded by beautiful African bushveld. Hlane is Swaziland's largest protected area and home to the largest herds of game in the Kingdom. You explore the park on a game walk with a local ranger looking for white rhino and elephant. The area also has an abundant and diverse birdlife, see how many species you can spot.
- Days 7-8: Maputo
- Itinerary
You enter Mozambique at the Namaacha border post and travel to Maputo. Formerly known as Lourenzo Marques, Portuguese and African cultures meet in an exquisite blend of delicious seafood and vibrant city life. Sights worth visiting include the Fort of Nossa Senhora da Conceiao (Our Lady of Conception) and the impressive Central Railway Station.
Sample the excellent seafood in a local restaurant (own expense).
- Days 9 - 11: Inhambane
- Itinerary
Arab influences are strong in Inhambane, dating back to when slaves, ivory, gold and spices were traded. Explore Inhambane and its 200-year old cathedral before travelling to Praia de Barra and your casitas set under the palms, next to the beach. Dhow rides and scuba diving on coral reefs are available (own expense).
- Days 12-13: Kruger National Park
- Itinerary
You enter the world-renowned Kruger National Park, South Africa, home to a huge diversity and density of game including Africa's 'Big 5'. Here you can spend your days on exciting game drives keeping an eye out for lions, giraffe and the mighty elephant. Relaxing in the tranquil bush, you experience a land forgotten by time, a true African wilderness.

You will need a valid passport and visas for entry into Swaziland, Mozambique & re-entering South Africa.
Please note that the Mozambique visas must be arranged in advance & cannot be obtained at the border.
The Mozambique entry border is Ponta do Ouro & exit border is Namaacha.
