Itinerary
Day to day
Your adventure begins today as you arrive in Cape Town and collect your rental car from the airport. A short drive will take you to the city centre and your home for the next four days, the Queen Victoria Hotel at the V&A Waterfront.
This beautiful and elegant hotel is ideally located to explore all the attractions that the Mother City has to offer.
Hike or take the cable car up Table Mountain or board the ferry to historic Robben Island for a history lesson. You can also go shopping at the V&A Waterfront or explore fashionable Kloof Street and vibrant Long Street on foot: they are lined with restaurants, bars and a range of eclectic boutiques.
Just a 10-minute drive from the city centre will take you to the beautiful white-sand city beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton where you can soak up the sun before enjoying a cocktail at one of the nearby bars and restaurants.
Return to Cape Town International Airport today and catch your flight to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. From there, you will fly to Hoedspruit Airport where you are met by a driver for your road transfer to the famed Timbavati Game Reserve, which borders the world-famous Kruger National Park. Check into Ngala Safari Lodge for the following three nights.
Timbavati offers unparalleled, exclusive Big 5 game viewing: many guests spot each member of the Big 5 on their first day. The area is well known for its rich diversity of wildlife – exceptional sightings of leopard and massive herds of buffalo are commonplace.
Enjoy fascinating game drives and informative nature walks with experienced guides and trackers who will help you learn more about this remarkable area.
Today you leave Timbavati Game Reserve behind and fly to Johannesburg where you will check in at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel in the prestigious neighbourhood of Sandton. Indulge in a signature treatment at the Fairlawns spa or unwind with drink in its manicured gardens.
Continue your adventure this morning as you fly to Victoria Falls Airport and transfer to Chobe Game Lodge, your home for the following three nights. Situated in Botswana’s Chobe National Park, the lodge is set in riverine woodlands and overlooks the beautiful Chobe River and Caprivi floodplains.
A birdwatchers paradise, Chobe is home to an abundance of wildlife including predators such as leopard, lion and wild dog, large herds of elephant and hippo plus puku, red lechwe and sable antelope. Late dry season game viewing – from August to October – is exceptional.
Spend your days exploring this remarkable area on thrilling game drives in open-sided safari vehicles or go on a romantic sunset cruise down the river, game viewing along the way.
This morning you leave the Chobe wilderness behind and travel to nearby Victoria Falls, spending your last two nights at The Elephant Camp. This tented safari camp is situated in a private wildlife concession close to the Falls and boasts breath-taking views of ‘The Smoke that Thunders’.
The camp is well known for its regular visitors: elephants can often be seen wandering around the front of the camp or drinking at the waterhole.
Your close proximity to Victoria Falls means easy access to all the adventure activities on offer here such as white-water rafting down the Zambezi River, bungee jumping, scenic flights and tranquil river cruises.
Your journey ends today as you leave Victoria Falls Airport and fly back to OR Tambo International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
